Mellowly™

Sensory-friendly play guide

More ways to stretch, wiggle, and play.

Simple play ideas, fit tips, and care help for your Mellowly™ sensory body sock. Start small, keep the face clear, and let your child set the pace.

Quick Start

Before you play

Keep the first session short and simple. One clear game is better than too many instructions.

1

Use with a grown-up

Stay nearby, choose a soft play area, and move hard edges out of the way.

2

Keep the face clear

The opening should stay near the shoulders. Do not cover the nose or mouth.

3

Start slow

Try a few minutes first. Pause if your child feels hot, stuck, or uncomfortable.

8 Fun Ways to Play

These match the printed guide. They are the easiest place to start after opening the package.

More play ideas

Choose a challenge by mood

Use these as short prompts. Pick one category, try one or two games, then take a break.

No-Prop Challenges

Nothing extra needed

Move Charades

Act out an animal, sport, object, or silly scene. Others guess without hints.

Shape & Letter Maker

Make a letter, number, star, bridge, rocket, or your own stretchy shape.

Mirror Moves

A parent makes slow movements. Your child copies them inside the sock.

Freeze Pose

Move to music, then freeze when the music stops.

Simon Says

Try simple prompts: reach high, curl small, wiggle left, stretch right.

Follow the Leader

Take turns leading one slow movement at a time.

Movement Challenges

For soft floor play

Animal Walks

Try a slow bear crawl, crab walk, frog hop, or seal scoot.

Obstacle Trail

Move around pillows, cushions, or safe floor markers.

Super Flyer

Lie on a soft surface and stretch arms and legs like a flying hero. No jumping.

Stretch Pose Challenge

Hold a safe pose for three slow counts, then switch to a new one.

Side Roll

Roll gently side to side on a clear, soft floor.

Rolling Log

Roll slowly from start to finish like a log. Keep the path clear.

Balloon Games

Light, playful catching games

Use a soft balloon or lightweight ball. Keep throws gentle and within easy reach.

Balloon Pass

Pass a balloon back and forth using slow reaches and turns.

Balloon Catch

Toss high, low, left, or right so the fabric stretches in different directions.

Balloon Basketball

Aim a balloon into a laundry basket or soft bin.

Balloon Soccer

Gently tap the balloon with feet inside the sock toward a soft target.

Balloon Target

Try to touch a balloon to a pillow, basket, or floor marker.

Balloon Keep-Up

See how many gentle taps keep the balloon in the air.

Light Games

Find the glowing spot

Use a soft light on the outside of the sock only. Do not shine light into eyes.

Flashlight Finder

Touch the light spot through the fabric.

Follow the Light

Move slowly as the light travels across the outside of the sock.

Touch the Light Spot

Try touching the spot with a hand, elbow, knee, or foot.

Body Part Light Challenge

Call out one body part and move that part toward the spot.

Story & Imagination

Turn movement into a tiny adventure

Story Acting

Tell a short story and act out each scene with movement.

Read & Act

Read one page, then act out one movement from the story.

Screen-Free Scene Acting

Act out a rocket launch, jungle walk, ocean wave, or silly robot.

Make Your Own Adventure

Your child chooses the next move: stretch, roll, crawl, or freeze.

Animal Mission

Pick an animal and complete a soft, safe mission across the room.

Quiet Finish

End the play session gently

These are simple wind-down prompts, not therapy. Stop anytime your child wants out.

Cozy Curl

Curl into a comfortable shape for a few slow breaths.

Quiet Turtle

Make a small turtle shape, then stretch out again.

Short Pause

Pause on a soft surface and check: more, different, or all done?

Slow Stretch

Reach gently in one direction, then slowly release.

Calm Ending Routine

Choose one final stretch, one soft roll, and one easy exit.

Size & Fit Tips

Stretchy, not stuck

A good fit lets the fabric stretch with movement and return gently without covering the face.

  • The opening stays clear near the shoulders.
  • Your child can move, breathe comfortably, and exit easily.
  • If it feels too tight, too hot, or unwelcome, stop and take a break.
  • If there is very little resistance, the size may feel more like a blanket than a play sock.

Care & Safety

Simple reminders

Before play

Use with adult supervision. Keep the face uncovered. Do not use during sleep.

During play

Use on a soft, safe surface. Stop if your child feels too hot, trapped, or uncomfortable.

Care

Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Wash before first use. Air dry recommended or tumble dry low.

Check before each use

Look over seams and snaps. Do not use if anything is loose, damaged, or uncomfortable.
